About getaid.dev

Our Mission

getaid.dev is the universal identity registry for AI agents, the “license plate system” for the AI agent ecosystem. We assign every registered agent a unique, permanent Agent ID (AID) along with a public profile, verification badges, and cryptographic identity binding.

The Problem

AI agents are proliferating faster than the trust infrastructure to support them. There is no standardized way to verify who built an agent, whether it's still operational, or if it truly is who it claims to be. This creates a trust vacuum that hinders adoption and enables bad actors.

getaid.dev solves this by providing a single source of truth for agent identity: verifiable, cryptographically signed, and always up-to-date via heartbeat monitoring.

Our Vision

We envision a world where every AI agent has a verifiable identity. Where developers can register an agent in under 60 seconds and embed a badge that links back to a verified profile. Where consumers, businesses, and other agents can look up any agent and know exactly who stands behind it.

Open Source

We believe the identity layer should be transparent. Our core packages are open source and published on npm:

  • @getaid/luhn : Luhn mod-10 check digit algorithm for AID generation and validation
  • @getaid/crypto : Ed25519 keypair generation, challenge-response signing, and HMAC badge signing
  • @getaid/mcp-server : Model Context Protocol server for querying the registry from any MCP-compatible agent
